Last updated 3 months ago

With ALO’s Escalation feature, you can set up automated notifications to alert specific people when an Action is created, updated, or remains unresolved for too long. These alerts can be customized to fit your organization’s unique needs, helping to ensure that the right individuals are always in the loop and able to take swift action when necessary. Whether it’s an urgent issue or a task overdue, ALO's escalation system helps maintain smooth operations by keeping everyone informed.

What the Notifications Look Like

Once your escalation is set up, the appropriate individuals in your organization will receive notifications based on the chosen method. Below is an overview of the message format for each notification type:

Direct Message (DM)

A DM will appear in the ALO platform for the specified users, alerting them immediately to the triggered action. The message will contain key details like the Action name, status, and any important instructions. Here's an example:

Example:

Email Notification

When you choose the Email option, a more detailed message is sent to the group’s email address. This email will include a summary of the Action, its current status, and any specific tasks or details associated with it.

SMS Notification

If you select SMS as your notification method, a text message will be sent to all users in the selected group(s). The message will be brief and to the point, providing the critical details to ensure swift action.

Setting Up Escalations

  1. Choose the Type(s) for which your groups will be notified.

  2. Decide how you’d like your groups to be notified. You can choose from:

    • Direct Message (DM): Group members receive an instant in-app notification, ensuring they are promptly aware of the action.

    • Email: A detailed report is sent to the group’s email, providing a comprehensive view of the action and its status.

    • SMS: All users in the selected groups will receive a text message, ensuring that key individuals are notified immediately, even if they’re away from their computer.

Navigate to Settings > Escalations an click on "Add Rule" on the top of the page.

Select your Trigger to determine specific stage (e.g., Action created, updated, or overdue) at which you want your notification to be sent.

If you have Classifications set up for your Types, you can fine-tune the notifications to specific classifications.

Select the groups you would like to be notified.
