The ALO Assets feature is designed to let organizations track and manage various physical assets by marking their locations on a map. An asset can represent anything critical to operational awareness, such as security cameras, essential equipment, or points of interest. The feature is versatile, allowing admins to customize details based on the type of asset, its location, and other key attributes.
Admins manage assets through the Records menu, where they can edit or update asset information as needed. This feature is particularly valuable for enhancing security, maintenance, and oversight activities by keeping track of essential objects across a site or facility.
Every asset entry can include the following properties:
Name (ID) - The unique identifier or name of the asset. This field is required and helps distinguish each asset in the system.
Category - An autocomplete field that allows admins to assign a category to the asset (e.g., "CCTV Camera," "Fire Extinguisher," "Medical Equipment"). This field is optional and will be greyed out if Categories are not enabled.
Description - A brief description of the asset, which could include its purpose or role. This field is optional.
Make - The manufacturer of the asset. This is optional and useful for distinguishing different models or brands.
Model - The model identifier for the asset, which is helpful for maintenance and ordering parts. This is optional.
Purchase Date - The date of acquisition, which can assist with maintenance schedules, warranties, and lifecycle tracking. This field is optional.
Photos or Videos - Enables admins to add visual references of the asset. Annotating images (if supported by an integrated library) would make it possible to mark key details on photos, enhancing usability in cases like Guard Tours.
Comment - A rich text field for additional notes about the asset. Comments can capture information about asset usage, condition, or maintenance history. This field is optional.
Location - This field uses an autocomplete feature to match known locations in the system. It helps place the asset within a specific area. Location is optional but essential for mapping and spatial awareness.
